Sirena and the Meyer FAMILY

Kate Meyer is a girl after my own heart. She knew that she loved horses and wanted them in her life. Her mom and dad weren’t horse people though and felt uncomfortable in getting her a horse. They lived in Vermont, but came out to the west coast each year and they rode Sirena and some of our other horses. When they returned home, I suggested that Kate’s dad have her take riding lessons to see if this was a fad or an addiction. A year later, it was clear that it was not a passing fad and, after another holiday visit, that they really wanted Sirena in their family. Since they lived so far away, I insisted that the whole family come out for a week of horse camp to learn, not just how to ride, but how to care for and manage horses. A month later, Sirena moved out to Vermont, where she gave birth to a beautiful colt, “Ricky” two years later.
